On the occasion of African Union Day 2025 today, His Imperial Highness Prince Estifanos Matewos, President of the United Africa Royal Assembly, issued a statement calling for a radical shift in Africa’s trajectory. Speaking on behalf of the Assembly, he urged African states, leaders, youth, workers, and descendants at home and abroad to rise to the challenge of building a continent that is sovereign, industrial, and unshaken by foreign interests. Rejecting dependency and the habit of “begging,” HRH Prince Estifanos emphasized the need for unity, self-reliance, and values strong enough to withstand time, technology, and global pressures. He declared that this African Union Day must be remembered as the moment Africa strengthened its resolve toward a powerful and prosperous future, reaffirming the Assembly’s commitment to a new era of Pan-African solidarity and progress.
