Mandela Family Extends Heartfelt Thanks to the United Africa Royal Assembly

The United Africa Royal Assembly (UARA) has received a heartfelt message of gratitude from the Mandela family of South Africa, recognizing the Assembly’s role in exercising Royal Diplomacy through His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan to help secure the safe release of His Royal Highness Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela and others. In a letter delivered by Her Royal Highness Ndileka Mandela on behalf of the family, they expressed deep appreciation to His Imperial Highness Prince Estifanos Matewos of Ethiopia, President of the United Africa Royal Assembly, for his swift action, decisive leadership, and unwavering support during this critical time.

The Mandela family commended His Imperial Highness for responding immediately to their appeal for assistance after learning of HRH Mandla Mandela’s capture. They highlighted his efforts in mobilizing his global network of respected leaders, organizations, and institutions who played a vital role in bringing about Mandla Mandela’s release.

The family’s letter read in part:

“When we received the news of Mandla’s capture, we reached out to His Imperial Highness, a long-time friend of our family and a leader we deeply respect. We asked him to engage his international network to help negotiate Mandla’s release. We are profoundly grateful for his compassion and leadership.”

The family also conveyed their gratitude to His Majesty the King of Jordan, the Presidency of South Africa, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, and the Ambassador of Palestine to South Africa, whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful outcome.

HRH Princess Ndileka Mandela wrote:

“We thank God for answering our prayers and for the safe return of my brother Mandla. We are also grateful to His Majesty the King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, the South African Presidency, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Her Excellency the Ambassador of Palestine to South Africa, as well as all civil society organizations, activists, and friends who stood by us in solidarity.”

Under His Imperial Highness’ vision, the Assembly is continuing  its mission to bring together traditional leaders from across Africa in a spirit of unity and purpose. Through various Royal Diplomacy engagements, UARA is standing for the promotion of peacebuilding, inclusive governance, and sustainable development in alignment with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
